Services

Kitchens and laundry

Counters, shelves and appliances set where your hands and eyes are.

Kitchens fail quietly: a heavy pot on a high shelf, an oven you bend into. We change those first, and leave a kitchen that still works for everyone who cooks in it.

What's included

  • Counters at two heights, one to sit at

  • Pull-out shelves and drawers in place of deep cabinets

  • A wall oven, or one with a side-opening door

  • A cooktop with front controls

  • Front-loading laundry on a platform or at counter height

  • Lighting under cabinets and a clear floor

What changes the cost

We don't print a price for this work. These decide the number you'll get in writing.

  • The layout

Changing what's in each cabinet costs little. Moving the sink or the range costs a lot more.

  • The appliances

A wall oven, a drawer dishwasher and a front-control cooktop each change the cabinet around them.

  • New cabinets or the ones you have

Pull-outs can often go into the cabinets you already own.

  • Plumbing and gas

Moves need a licensed tradesperson and a permit.

How it goes

  1. 01

Step 1: Cook in front of us

We watch you work, and mark what you reach for and what you avoid.

  2. 02

Step 2: A plan in the order we'd do it

Small changes first, so you can stop at any point.

  3. 03

    Step 3: The work

We protect floors, and keep a working sink or hot plate in the house.

  4. 04

Step 4: Cook the first meal

We stay until everything is where your hands expect it.

Questions about this work

Do you do full kitchen remodels?

Yes, and they start with the same walk-through. Most of our kitchen work is smaller: shelves, counters, one appliance.

Can I keep my cabinets?

Often. Pull-outs and new handles go into existing cabinets. The scope shows what's possible.
